Legal definition A showman is a person who has had no fixed abode or residence for more than six months in the European Union. This definition is set out in article L. 123-29 of the French Commercial Code. The decree of 31 July 1970 specifies that this is a person without a principal place of business within the meaning of article 102 of the Civil Code, which often involves occupying the public domain.
