How are our fees determined?
Our fees are set in accordance with ethical obligations of our profession. These obligations are described in article 11 of the National rules of procedure for the legal profession.
Determination of fees
Fees are set according to custom, depending on the client's financial situation, the difficulty of the case, the costs incurred by the lawyer, his reputation and his diligence. The lawyer in charge of a case may request fees from his client even if the case is taken away from him before its conclusion, to the extent of the work carried out.
Elements of remuneration
The lawyer's remuneration depends, in particular, on each of the following elements in accordance with customary practice:
- the time spent on the case,
- research work,
- the nature and difficulty of the case,
- the importance of the interests involved,
- the impact of practice costs and expenses to which it belongs,
- its reputation, qualifications, seniority, experience and specialisation,
- the benefits and results obtained for the customer through its work, as well as the service rendered to the customer, the customer's financial situation.
Fee agreement
Cases are analysed and a fee agreement is systematically drawn up to govern the relationship between our law firm and the client.
The different types of fees charged by the firm
Our company offers three types of billing: hourly rates, fixed rates and result-based fees. Our fees may be partially or fully covered by legal expenses insurance. In some cases, we also accept to act on behalf of the legal aid scheme. pro bono.
