The firm

Solent Avocats is a French professional law firm (SELARL) registered with the Marseille Bar, established on 1 April 2023. Our offices are at 180 rue de Rome, in the 6th arrondissement of Marseille.

Our practice spans six areas organised into three clusters: commercial law and insolvency proceedings; banking and finance law and credit law; enforcement and security law. We do not take on matters outside this perimeter.

We represent individuals in disputes with their bank, credit institutions, investment funds, and brokerage firms. We also act as co-counsel for other law firms on files that require a sharp technical expertise that few practitioners possess.

Our cases regularly take us abroad, in particular to Monaco, Switzerland, Italy, the United Arab Emirates and the United States. On high-stakes cross-border disputes, we frequently work in teams, inside coordinated pools of lawyers that we sometimes lead.

Our history

Our founders, Raphaël Morenon and Charlotte Gauchon, developed within UFC-Que Choisir the conviction that a bad settlement is better than a long trial, and that legal knowledge must circulate freely.

Raphaël has been training practitioners for several years at bar schools and professional training bodies. Charlotte, accredited as a lecturer, comes from the academic world. Their partnership rests on a dual requirement: to defend with rigour, and to share without reservation.

Our convictions

From know-how to know-show. Our niche practice has led us to develop a rich editorial output. We publish in-depth articles every week, in open access. With more than 41 articles published (French), our blog is one of the most complete French-language resources on banking law, commercial law and enforcement. Our encyclopaedic case files, some of which exceed one hundred pages, originate from the professional training courses we have been delivering for several years.

From know-show to professional training. Recognised for our expertise, we deliver Qualiopi-certified training at several bar schools. Teaching is not an extra; it is the natural extension of our practice.

Focus rather than dispersion. Our niche practice regularly leads us to turn down matters that fall outside our areas of competence.
